Diana Pianoles Nieuwkoop
Background
I pursued my musical studies in Germany. At the conservatories of Dortmund and Münster I received my Bachelor and Master diplomas in piano and recorder.
Experience
I started my career teaching at music schools in Germany and The Netherlands. For many years now I have been running a friendly and thriving private teaching practice in Nieuwkoop. I have taught children the first steps on the piano, got adults interested and helped advanced students towards Conservatory study.
IK DOE MEE!
In collaboration with my colleague Irina Parfenova, I conceived the educational music programme IK DOE MEE! (I PLAY ALONG!) for elementary schools. In this programme the children play, act and sing while we play the piano quatre-mains in a performance. We have to date performed in more than 30 schools in the region.

I very much enjoy combining my piano teaching with my work as a tour leader of MUSICO Reizen. I accompany groups of music lovers to music festivals in The Netherlands and across Europe, offering introductions to all concerts and operas.
Stichting Kamermuziek Nieuwkoop
In 1991, my husband, pianist David Kuyken, and I founded the Nieuwkoop Chamber Music Society (Stichting Kamermuziek Nieuwkoop). National and international top artists have performed in this successful chamber music series, amongst them pianists such as the young Jussen brothers and the famous Emanuel Ax.
I am a member of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA).
In 2008 I was awarded a Royal decoration in recognition of my long-standing work in my social and cultural community.

Every lesson with Diana is surprisingly instructive. Diana's gift of always responding to the wishes and questions of Aliex (11 years old) keeps her fascinated, and us parents too, in the back seat! The wide variety and freedom of pieces is also super.
Parents of Aliex
The lessons with Diana always mean surprising discoveries for me about the pieces I play. This is because of her enormous knowledge about music, but also because of her subtlety in how she stimulates you to take just that little steps that make you think 'I'll never learn it!' Piano lessons are like studying in a relaxed and friendly way.
Hilda,
consultant
When people compliment me on my piano playing I often say how lucky I was with my piano teacher. I don't think anyone could have brought out the best in me as much as you did. At times when I was running into issues...you always got me back on top of it. When things were going well, you always knew how to teach me to do it even better... you not only taught me how to play the piano but also to really understand the music. Although the lessons are now coming to an end, I know that because of this I will always be able to pick up sheet music myself and study a piece, or just sit down at the piano to improvise. Thanks for everything.
